The Post Katrina Plans portion of the website lists and describes the current plans that were formulated for the future growth of New Orleans. From these plans, we have distilled the vision for The University Lakefront District.

The Unified New Orleans Plan (UNOP) - "The Unified New Orleans Plan (UNOP) addresses specific actions necessary to facilitate the recovery and rebuilding of New Orleans. The objective of this multi-level planning process is to successfully integrate community input and a set of deliverables from the district-level and neighborhood planning processes into a Unified Recovery and Rebuilding Plan that will be submitted to the City Planning Commission, City Council, Mayors Office and State of Louisiana. The plan culminates with a city-wide plan that encompasses all districs and neighborhoods."

City of New Orleans-Neighborhoods Rebulding Plan (Lambert Plan) - "Approximately 100 days after Hurricane Katrina struck, Motion M-05-592 was introduced by Councilmember Willard-Lewis and unanimously passed by the City Council of New Orleans. The Motion ensured that communitybased neighborhood-byneighborhood planning for flooded areas of the City would be central to decisions associated with the recovery of the most devastated areas of New Orleans. The Council was adamant that the families most impacted by the storm would play a central role in defining the future of their communities."

The zones will be built around public assets in business corridors in an effort to generate further private investment from developers."
