March 3rd - 4th Taskforce Meeting, Edgewater Baptist Church

The fourth taskforce meeting featured a presentation by ORDA concerning possible future funds for area redevelopment and roadway enhancements. The Draft Action Plan was also presented to the taskforce.

The third taskforce meeting, looked at the preliminary finding for the housing analysis and also looked at potential commercial development site designs. The meeting notes are currently available and the presentations will be added shortly.

December 9th - 2nd Taskforce Meeting, University of New Orleans

The second task force meeting, which took place at UNO, involved a presentation by Claritas of the data that is available for businesses to use for site analysis. There was also a presentation showing a potential rezoning concept on the site that involved a more walkable, pedestrian friendly site design. November 13th - 1st Taskforce Meeting, Edgewater Baptist Church

Our first Task Force meeting on November 13th was successful in engaging a wide-array of community members. The meeting involved introductions of the task force members and an introduction to The University Lakefront District and what it means. There was also a presentation by CHART showing the data indicators available for residential recovery. The meeting notes and presentations are available below.

This project is funded through the Greater New Orleans Foundation, a Community Support Foundation Plans Into Action Grant of $60,000. The RPC has contracted with The University of New Orleans and CHART to carry out the project.

The third meeting went successfully and the presentations and notes from the meeting are now available in the 'Meeting Notes' section.

The Claritas data that was presented in the last meeting is now available under the "Resources" tab of the webpage.

Added a map to the "Photos & Maps" portion of the webpage. The map has bike routes and photos of the neighborhood surrounding The University Lakefront District.

Market research data – Provided by Nielsen Claritas.  Nielsen Claritas is a national firm that gathers and researches numerous data about population, households and businesses, consumer behavior and spending in the U.S.  Information is analyzed to provide a more accurate picture of current markets for potential commercial development. The residents and commercial property owners of the University Lakefront District are grateful for Claritas’ generous donation of this target data.
