g The University Lakefront District is a vision for the future growth and revitalization of a sub-section of the Gentilly neighborhood. This vision calls for a bikeable, walkable, pedestrian friendly environment that connects the UNO campus, area businesses, schools, and residents in an effort to create a sustainable and attractive community for the future growth and development of Gentilly.

g This website will also serve as a template for the revitalization of the remaining business nodes in New Orleans. We are providing a central location for businesses, potential businesses, and residents to look at their neighborhoods current and expected growth by compiling the wide array of neighborhood surveys, mapping, residential demographics, market analysis, and other data resources available. We are also reviewing the policy tools available that area businesses can use to help drive growth. This Action Plan for neighborhood revitalization is the key for a step towards action in the rebuilding of our neighborhoods.

This project is funded through the Greater New Orleans Foundation, a Community Support Foundation Plans Into Action Grant of $60,000. The RPC has contracted with The University of New Orleans and CHART to carry out the project.
